NES Young Learners

The overwhelming majority of Maldivian students attend public schools, while only a few fortunate students attend the two private schools in Male’. NES Young Learners aims to provide opportunities for public school primary students to improve their English Language, Mathematics, Science and Computing by offering the world well-known Edexcel iPrimary checkpoint to assess learners and benchmark their standards at the end of the primary programme (Key Stage 2).

Introducing Pearson Edexcel iPrimary

Edexcel iPrimary is now available at NES Young Learners. It is a complete one-stop international curriculum for English, Mathematics, Science, Computing and Global Citizenship, for children aged 6 to 12. At NES we provide the iPrimary curriculum for students through our tutoring programme. This programme delivers a consistent learning journey, with world class support services from planning, to teaching and learning, through to assessment.

NES Young Learners is a registered and approved centre of Pearson Edexcel to teach iPrimary subjects and conduct assessments in the Maldives. The tests are marked in Edexcel UK.

What is iPrimary?

Pearson Edexcel iPrimary is now available at NES Young learners. It is a complete one-stop international programme for English, Mathematics, Science, Computing and Global Citizenship, for children aged 3 to 11.

At NES we provide the iPrimary curriculum for students aged 6-12 through the tutoring programme. iProgress delivers a consistent learning journey, with world class support services from planning, to teaching and learning, through to assessment. It comes with sample schemes of work, exemplified units of work, internally assessed progress tests, externally assessed achievement tests and a comprehensive professional development programme.

Internal and External Assessments

Internal and external assessments measure students’ learning with built-in internal Progress Tests and external, internationally benchmarked Achievement Tests.

Progress Tests are internally administered and marked assessments that are included as part of the programme. Progress Tests are included for every topic (in science) or half term (in Mathematics, English, and Computing), as well as a full, summative end-of year test for each grade in the programme.

Achievement Tests are assessments that are externally administered and marked by Pearson Edexcel and are available at the end of Grade 6. This test provides the ideal opportunity both to check the learning of students at the end of key stage 2, and to provide a qualification that is internationally benchmarked against students around the world.

Session Times

Currently, the available iPrimary subjects at NES Young Learners are English Language, Mathematics, Science and Computing. For these subjects NES Young Learners offers double sessions for students: one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Below are the class times for both sessions.

Tuition Fees for iPrimary

At the NES Young Learners, we offer a comparative fee structure for students. Our fees for 2023 for individual subjects are below:
